AHA!!!!!!

  StinkyMonkey4eva.biz experienced an "AHA!" moment late yesterday. We've all seen the shabby chic fabric rosettes everywhere these days from simple embellishments to hair accessories and even as jewelry. I've admired them from afar but believed that they were too time consuming to create. While sewing yesterday evening, I reached over to grab a scrap of fabric which I had intended to throw out.
Mr. StinkyMonkey4eva.biz stepped into the room and began sharing about an incident which occurred earlier during his work day. As I listened, I unwittingly fiddled and twirled the scrap of fabric around. I looked down and to my amazement I held the cutest fabric rosette between my fingers. Yay! StinkyMonkey4eva.biz now has a new lovely to incorporate into her work. I found this tutorial on youtube which demonstrates how to create another super cute version of the ever so prevalent shabby chic rosette.

Sailor Jerry Apron

 Pink tags were half price that day.

Bag Redo

So I came across a handmade bag that I had never used before.  I'm not sure where I got the bag from and for the record, StinkyMonkey4eva.biz did not design or create it. I gave it the once over twice and thought to myself that there is always room for improvement and a StinkyMonkey4eva.biz makeover was just the thing this thing was screaming for. 

So Far. So Good.

Not too shabby for a fabric remnant that was less than half a yard and an old tattered table cloth.

Just Watch Me

   Earlier this evening I was sitting at the dining room table with a pile of fabric set in front of me.  My daughter, on her way to the kitchen for a snack, stopped in front of the table and reached for a piece of fabric that lay amongst  the various remnants.  As she held it up for a better view, she commented that it was super cute and would make a really cute apron and that it was too bad that I didn't have enough to actually make an apron.  Indeed there was less than half a yard of the fun sugar skull fabric and most people would agree that it was not enough to make a full apron.  But I do not fall into the category of "most people" when it comes to creating an apron.  StinkyMonkey4eva.biz never uses a pattern.  Patterns are for wimps!  HA!  I informed my daughter  that I could  and would make a full on hostess apron with that small piece of fabric.  Just watch me.

Rrrrrrrrrrrraw!

On this gorgeous gloomy overcast day, I enjoyed a relaxing afternoon of sewing . I'm hoping to finish up with these sexxxy and sassy aprons, along with their coordinating dish washing gloves, by the end of the week.

Valentine's Day 2012: StinkyMonkey4eva.biz

Love is in the air and we are less than a month away from Valentine's Day. Yay! I'm so looking forward to getting all dolled up and spending a long overdue evening out with my husband. I'm currently working on a few sexy and sassy Valentine's Day aprons, along with a project entitled "Love Cats" which will help benefit the furry residents of a local animal shelter.
